THE CONTEST

I liked all of my ideas that I suggested on my poll, but the contest is based upon the two most popular categories that were selected. That was ‘Draw a picture based on lyrics supplied’ and ‘draw my characters or your characters in a scene from a movie’. The rules and regulations are as follow;

Part One

Draw a picture based on lyrics supplied

For part one, I want you do draw a picture (it doesn’t have to be something to do with horses) based on song lyrics. Since I figured if I pick it out, it’ll be hella boring,I decided, hell! Why not let you pick them? Only one rule here, though. You HAVE to pick your lyrics from DarkLyrics.com only. If there is a band like ‘Slipknot’ that has its name greyed out and when you click it, it takes you to a different website, don’t use it. This means its not brutal enough to be classified as metal!

Next, when making this picture, don’t draw it and then search for some lyrics and attach it, and say ‘that’ll do!’ because that’s not the objective! Try as much as you can to interpret the words and use them to your advantage. If you want, you can actually put the words into the picture, but be careful with that because it sometimes looks cheap. Otherwise, put them into the Artists Comments box when uploading, with the song title and band.

If anyone has links to these songs so people can hear them, please link me to them! Maybe from Youtube or Myspace (I can’t look for them or my internet will cark itself, sorry!)

Part Two

Draw a scene from a movie or TV show by substituting the characters with mine or yours

For part two, the objective is to draw a scene from a movie or a TV show and portray the original characters with your own that you've created, or my characters. This means that your characters are not interacting with the original characters, but actually replacing them. You can go as crazy as you like! I don’t want to give you any examples because then I’ll have to say you can’t use that idea, and I want you guys to have an open mind and clear thoughts.

If you’re going to use any one of my characters in this contest, you’ll need to reference them from somewhere.

Please send your entry in a note

Any media is allowed

No stealing/using anyone else’s artwork without permission

Try to keep the ‘free linearts’ to a minimum

Make sure all artwork entered is new and drawn specifically for the contest

You don't have to enter both sections, but you can if you like

You can submit as many pictures as you like

Want to win?
I’ll be looking for something genuine and original that shows your hard hours working on it. The more detailed and creative the picture is, the more chance it will have to win. All I can say is put your best into it and let your imagination out of that cage.

Same question as Obsidian-Mongoose, but otherwise, sounds pretty cool. Most likely, I'll just do the movie one (I'm not very familiar with metal type songs and probably would get very distracted if I had to do that).

Looks like I got a movie marathon day...yay!
