Around September 2008 I had an idea. It sounded like a good idea at the time. I asked everyone what they thought of this plan of a mass equine artist collaboration. Most people said it was a good idea and that I should go forth with this plan, probably because they weren’t the ones that had to organise it, but also they had a chance to be part of it. So it was to be. I started planning and put forth the plans in October 2008. From there, it was well underway, everything seemed strong, and some even had aspirations for it to be finished in time for Christmas. But no, it was too epic for Christmas, no deadline was set.
It carried on though January, and February, but still it was not finished. Some did not manage to get their picture in, I had to rearrange the list more than once, but finally, we are here, and we are finished. An epic journey comes to an end. I can honestly say even though my patience was tested, I never had firm thoughts of cancelling the entire thing. I can also honestly say, and I believe many others would have thought this too, that this would never materialise, that I would not be able to organise and execute such a massive thing. But we did it. You guys did it. Everyone who participated were the ones that really made this come alive. A collection of the finished horse artists on deviantART. What exactly is the “Community Collaboration”?
This was a chance for the equine artists of deviantART to come together and display their horse or horse-like characters among other horse or horse-like characters. This gives them a chance to physically see that they are part of a special circle, and that the possibilities are endless.
Also, it gives a chance for artists to promote their favourite, or leading character creation. Many artists are known by one certain character, and this gives others a chance to associate a character they may have seen somewhere to a name of their creator.

Every piece of artwork on this picture does not belong to me, excluding piece number one, which was drawn by me for the purpose of being up there. All character designs and artwork is copyrighted to their creators, please respect this.

Facts!

It took us 6 months to complete this project.
There was only 2 polls made , one of which first put forward the idea of a community project.
There was 13 journals written which were numerously updated.

31% of all characters have unnatural colouring.
~Shurikan-x’s horse Lirael is the tallest in at a massive 23hh. If this were a real horse, this would make them the world’s tallest horse.
